Sweet Hoop Decoration Tutorial

So, I had this idea to make decorations for our up coming wedding, and since I am a Modern Sewist I thought how mach fabric can I use at my own wedding? A lot! There is going to be fabric everywhere since the wedding in in the the woods. I needed something to hang from the trees..... Well, for the first decoration I grabbed an old embroidery hoop and stuck some fabric in it... too boring. I decided to spruce it up and starting sewing pieces of fabric together. This is what I came up with, and here is a quick tutorial on how to do it...

First grab some scraps. For the one above I cut strips from 3" to 1" and sewed them together.
Next I grabbed my embroidery hoop and lined up the bottom hoop with the fabric in the spot I wanted to display.

I then attached the top of the hoop and tightened. Not too much though, you can stretch the fabric or it will pucker.
Next, flip over and trim off excess...

Voila! Finished product!

Now see what you can do! There are so many cute mini blocks that can be made into decorations or use a little embroidery!

Crazy Weeks....

In a month from now I will be this man's wife, and I couldn't be more proud and honored than to spend the rest of my life with him!

This has been the craziest past couple of years of my life. Learned a lot about myself and my life as it is to be. Besides learning all that I also learned how to make fabric art. The one thing I have found that I loved almost as much as my man and my family.

So I have decided to work on and learn everything about quilting....
This is some of the insanity going on in our little lives.....

1. Learned how to make darling ditty bags from Jeni @ In Color Order...
 2. I am allmmoosstt finished with my Solstice Star Series by Faith @ Fresh Lemons....

 3.Started In Color Order BOM....

5. I made my very first clothing item, The Spring Ruffel Top from Sew, Mama, Sew!, not well, but I did it... I am very proud of it, even if that pattern on the fabric is upside down.....

So, that's it for now... I have many more projects too.... I love my insane life!
