Charmed, I'm Sure! ;)

I am so very excited to announce a new project!! I will be making each project out of Lesley Chaisson's " Charmed, I'm Sure" book, it's perfect to use up your charm squares. Lesley is graciously allowing me to help a sista out! I get to make and show you guys all her awesome ideas and hopefully you will check out her Etsy site Candy Corner Quilting!  The projects range from quilts, to table runners, and even a sweet little bag!

I wanted to do a project that would challenge me to actually finish something in a month. So, I picked up Lesley's book at my Quilt Guild a few months ago, actually I swiped it, I was the first one to use it!! I still have it!! Ha! So this is the First Project: Luvaduv, and you all know I Love Hearts, so it's my Favorite one!!

Made with all Batik's and even a special one (blue & in the middle) that was hand dyed and stamped in Key West, had to do a lil' beggin' for that one!!
I love Florida, but of course it's my home ;)!

I still have work to do on it. So, I will try to finish before the week is up, but soon.

Thank You Lesley!

By the way, Yoshimi Loves it!!!

Sweet Hoop Decoration Tutorial

So, I had this idea to make decorations for our up coming wedding, and since I am a Modern Sewist I thought how mach fabric can I use at my own wedding? A lot! There is going to be fabric everywhere since the wedding in in the the woods. I needed something to hang from the trees..... Well, for the first decoration I grabbed an old embroidery hoop and stuck some fabric in it... too boring. I decided to spruce it up and starting sewing pieces of fabric together. This is what I came up with, and here is a quick tutorial on how to do it...

First grab some scraps. For the one above I cut strips from 3" to 1" and sewed them together.
Next I grabbed my embroidery hoop and lined up the bottom hoop with the fabric in the spot I wanted to display.

I then attached the top of the hoop and tightened. Not too much though, you can stretch the fabric or it will pucker.
Next, flip over and trim off excess...

Voila! Finished product!

Now see what you can do! There are so many cute mini blocks that can be made into decorations or use a little embroidery!

 Namaste!
