Just wanted to post one of my favorite wall hangings I have done. The pattern is "Orion's Star" by Eleanor Burns. I used all scraps to make this. I just love it.

Ok, so earlier this year my guild, the Friendship Knot Quilters' Guild, had an Ugly Quilt Challenge. They had us all bring in the ugliest fabric we had stashed around and divided it up between us volunteers. Well, I got my fabric, and to me all separately it was all horrendous. I had just took a class from Cathy Washburn (an awesome quilter) on Elanor Burns' "Radiant Star Quilt".
And this is what I came up with.
It actually kinda blended and weirdly looks pretty in that 70's psychedelic kinda way.
Well, I did not win( the winner is right to the right of in the pic, yeah, that's dancing zebras), But I had a blast making it.
It's still a UFO right now, no backing or binding yet. It may become a huge pillow.....ya never know.

First Ever BOM

My very first BOM is from Fresh Lemons called Solstice Stars....
Now two more squares added to the mix.....

Welcome!!

WELCOME!!
Welcome everyone to the Pink Padme Designs blog!!! Now, first off I am new to this blogging thing, so I will get the hang of it sooner or later. So, my purpose is to expose the world and my friends to the world of Modern Quilting! Also to get & share ideas with my fellow quilters.
For me quilting has been totally life changing. While living far away from home, knowing nobody, I had to find a hobby at the insistence of my fiancee, Jason ( more for his sanity than mine ;) .) Around the same time my sweet southern mother began to quilt. She inspired me to dive in head first, and did I ever.
(This is the part where I get addicted....) So, I found a beginners quilter class at a local quilt shop in Sarasota. That was the Cotton Patch. The owner, Laura, taught the class. She was wonderful and explained everything so well. Then a wonderful thing happened......
My First Quilt.....
Cute, huh...
Well Since then I have not stopped. I have totally become addicted to quilting. I love making  them for others. One day I will finally make Jason and I one for our bed!
